14th January 2012: At his first show of 2012, the fourth show in the Agility Nuts winter series, Phoenix got a sixth place in Elementary Large Snakes and Ladders and a clear round in Elementary Large Jumping! Very pleased with my boy!
9th October 2011: At the first Agility Nuts show in the 2011/12 Winter Series, Phoenix managed a couple of tenth places and a nineteenth. None of the rounds were clear but he got his weaves and did the seesaw *twice* so he's making progress and I'm very proud of him. :) And despite being eliminated in one of his four rounds, he's still managed to go straight in at 5th in the Elementary Large Dogs League.
10th September 2011: At the Agility Nuts KC Show on September 10th, Phoenix was placed 23rd in Combined 1-2 Agility and 32nd in Combined 1-2 Jumping. No clear rounds on this occasion.
19th June 2011: At the Agility Nuts Summer Series Show on June 19th, Phoenix was placed 9t in Elementary Large Clockwork Tunnels and 11th in Elementary Large Give A Dog A Bone. No clear rounds on this occasion.
19th February 2011: At the Dog Vegas Winter Series Show on February 12th, Phoenix was placed 2nd in Grade 0 Large Agility and got a Clear Round in Jumping.
10th January 2011: At the Agility Nuts Winter Series Show #4, Phoenix was placed 4th in Large Elementary Snakes & Ladders with a time of 17.941 seconds. He was also placed 17th in Large Elementary Agility (5 faults, 43.194 seconds), 19th in Large Elementary Jumping (10 faults, 38.345 seconds) and 16th in Large Elementary Time-Fault-Out Jumping (10 obstacles, 25.58 seconds). He is now 19th overall in the Agility Nuts Elementary Large League.
14th November 2010: At the Agility Nuts Winter Series Show #2, Phoenix got a clear round in Elementary Large Jumping and was placed 9th with a time of 18.281 seconds. He was also placed 4th in Elementary Large Time-Fault-Out having managed 13 obstacles in 29.174 seconds. He was eliminated in both the Agility and 'Tunnel Torment' rounds. He is 25th overall in the Agility Nuts Elementary Large League after only one show!
3rd October 2010: At the Agility Addicts show in Staffordshire Phoenix didn't get any clear rounds but had fun on the jumping and "Catherine Wheel" courses. (We were late arriving st the show so he missed his agility round.)
5th September 2010: Phoenix got a clear round in jumping (mdium, NFC) at Northcote agility show.
1st August 2010: Phoenix got a clear round in "capability jumping" at the Delinquent Dogz agility show near Rotheram! For his first agility show, that wasn't half bad! Well done Mr P!
3rd July 2010: Phoenix was sixth of seven in the AV Non-Sporting dog class at Laxton's charity dog show. He also clocked the second-fastest time on the large-dog fun obstacle course at 18 seconds.
28th June 2010: At the last conformation show of his career, Phoenix was placed second in the BSD Tervueren Limit dog class (2 entries). Well done Mr Phoenix! You can now forget about looking good and think about moving fast! :D
13th June 2010: Updated shows page with more "upcoming" shows in obedience and agility. :)
10th June 2010: At Three Counties Championship Show, Phoenix was placed last of four in the Tervueren Open Dog classl - which serves him right, since he was Mr Grumpy face all day! :) He then gave his best friend, Saffron, ringside support for the rest of the day - and let her have some of his special cocktail sausages as bait!
4th June 2010: At Boston Premier Open Show, Phoenix was placed second of four in AV Pastoral - all the other dogs were Shelties!
2nd May 2010: At Brackenhurst Companion Dog Show, Phoenix was placed in every class and came home with one second place rosette and two thirds.
20th March 2010: At West Torrington & District Canine Club, Phoenix was placed fourth in the Open Belgian Tervueren Dog/Bitch class (7, 3a) by judge Mrs C Wilcox.
11th March 2010: At dfs Crufts, Phoenix was placed fourth in the Good Citizens' dog class (7, 2a) under judge Vic Salt.
13th December 2009: At the Ladies Kennel Association Championship Show, Phoenix was placed second of four in the Post-Graduate dog class under judge Marion Spavin.
15th November 2009: At Bolsover Open Show, Phoenix was placed third of four in the Post-Graduate AVNSC class under judge Mr R. Oldham.
31st October 2009: At Grantham Open Show, Phoenix was placed second of two in the Post-Graduate Belgian Shepherd Tervuren class under judge Mrs F. Kaye.
18th October 2009: At Worksop Open Show, Phoenix was placed third of six in the Post-Graduate AV Pastoral class under judge Mr S. Atkinson.
4th October 2009: At the Belgian Shepherd Dog Association of Great Britain Open Show, Phoenix was placed first in the Post-Graduate dog class (2 entries) by judge Gill Cooper. He was also "Reserve Best Dog" and got a very pretty rosette.
1st October 2009: At Driffield where there were no CCs on offer, Phoenix was first (1 entry) in the Post-Graduate Dog class under judge Yvonne Wheeler. He was also "Reserve Best of Sex" dog.
26th September 2009: Phoenix was third in the AVNSC Pastoral class at Derby CS Open Show (7, 1a).
21st September 2009: After a long and tiring day at Nidderdale Agricultural Show, Phoenix came away with a second of three in the BSD (Terv) Open Dog class, and a third place in the AV Pastoral Post-Graduate class.
19th September 2009: Phoenix passed his Good Citizen's Bronze test at Darlington Championship Show today! He was also placed second in the BSD Tervueren Post-Graduate Dog Class under judge Irene Green (3 entries, 1 absent), qualifying him for the breed classes at Crufts 2010, and was later placed fourth in the AV Post Graduate Dog Stakes under Mr Martin C Freeman (15, 5).
7th August 2009: Grace has booked a couple of weeks holiday off work in September and October so is planning on attending as many shows with Phoenix as possible in that time! She is hoping to take Phoenix for his Bronze Good Citizen's test whilst at Darlington Champ' Show, too.
26th July 2009: At Leeds Championship Dog Show, Phoenix was placed second in breed in the Graduate Dog Class under judge John Carter (2 entries), and was short-listed in the YKC Pastoral Stakes by Australian judge Roy Barter, but was not placed (14 entries, 3 absent).
13th July 2009: At the East of England Champ' Show, his first championship show for over two years, Phoenix was short-listed by judge Roy Metcalfe in the Pearl Crocker Post-Graduate stakes (entry of 62) and was later placed first by judge Brenda Banbury in the YKC Stakes (13, 4 absent). He is now qualified to take part in the YKC finals at Crufts 2010!
7th July 2009: Phoenix is now living in Bathley near Newark and is settling in well. He has just had a fabulous weekend out at the fun shows and has restarted his show career with a bang by taking "Best Pedigree in Show" at Laxton Charity Dog Show on Saturday! He also picked up a second place rosette at Birchgrove Fun Show on Sunday for "Best Longhaired Dog", handled by my friend Becci and her sister Tori. (See the Shows page for more details.) 17th May 2009: Phoenix went to the Burton-le-Coggles novelty dog show today. He didn't get placed but he enjoyed his day out.
28th April 2009: Phoenix will be relocating to Bathley, nr Newark, at the end of June 2009. He'll be living with Grace and her friend, Becci. (Plus Becci's Shetland Sheepdog, Border Collie and a couple of kitties!) He will then be embarking on a training regime to bring him up to Good Citizens' Silver standard, maybe even Gold, and if he's brave enough, he'll do some agility, too. :D
10th March 2009: Phoenix sends his congratulations to his kennel-mate Remus (Bergeau Paint With Matisse for Everquest) who won the RCC at Crufts last weekend. Well done, Remus!
15th December 2008: I've got Phoenix's photos from the "Pets at Home" photoshoot - they're lovely! He's been entered for the competition so best of luck, Phoenix!
3rd December 2008: Links page updated. Phoenix and I are now also listed at the new dog network site "All Dogs".
30th November 2008: Phoenix had his photo taken at the Dog Photography session at the"Pets At Home" store in Lincoln. He'll be entered into the portrait competition next weekend -- and I'll be having some of his photos for Christmas, if they come out all right! Watch this space to see some of them!
23rd November 2008: Yesterday Phoenix was tested CLEAR for HC (Heriditary Cataracts) by Prof. P. Bedford at Newark & Notts Showground, whilst also enjoying a day-out at West Torrington CS Dog Show with Grace Francis and Cassie Grimes. (Phoenix wasn't showing, but he met some Belgian peoples and some other dogs, and seemed quite happy being back in a show atmosphere.) New photos from yesterday are in the gallery!
18th November 2008: Phoenix sends his congratulations to his litter sister, Bergeau Dazzled By The Flame, who was 1st in Open Bitch, CAC, CACIB, and BOB at the Belgian Specialty, and was also 2nd in Open Bitch, RCAC, and RCACIB at the Euroshow over the weekend in Kortrijk, Belgium! Well done, Dazzle!
